Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Capto Studio (“CaptoStudio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a native iOS application that helps you design App Store screenshots, work with listing copy, and publish assets to App Store Connect. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the app and the website at captostudio.app.

1. Information you create in the app

Projects, screenshots, canvas documents, and related files stay on your device unless you export them, share them, back them up with iCloud (Capto Pro), or upload them to App Store Connect yourself. We do not operate a Capto-hosted project sync that stores your screenshots on our servers by default.

2. App Store Connect credentials

If you enable App Store Connect upload, you provide an Issuer ID, Key ID, and private key (.p8). These credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are used only to authenticate with Apple’s App Store Connect API. We do not upload your .p8 to a CaptoStudio cloud vault. See our Security page for more detail.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

Capto Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes payment. We receive entitlement status (whether Capto Pro is active) so the app can unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card numbers. We use RevenueCat as a subscription infrastructure layer on top of Apple’s billing to read and manage entitlement status.

4. Capto Pro AI features

Capto Pro includes optional AI features that localize screenshot copy and write or adapt App Store listing fields. When you use these features, the relevant text (screenshot copy and/or listing fields derived from the app name or an existing listing) is sent over HTTPS to our servers at captostudio.app (for example /api/localize and /api/listing), which forward the request to OpenAI to generate or adapt text.

We do not use that submitted copy to train a Capto machine-learning model. We do not sell personal data. Listing copy is not generated from screenshot headlines.

5. Website

If you contact us or subscribe to updates by email, we process the email address and message content you send for support and communication purposes. We do not sell your email address.

captostudio.app uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser). Google may set cookies or use similar technologies as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use Analytics to sell personal data or to identify you across unrelated apps.

6. How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate Capto Studio: with Apple (App Store Connect API calls you initiate; In-App Purchase), with OpenAI (Pro AI requests described above), with RevenueCat (subscription entitlement), with Google (website Analytics), and with service providers who host captostudio.app. We may also disclose information if required by law.

7. Data retention

On-device project data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Server logs for AI proxy requests may be retained for a limited period for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. Support emails are retained as needed to resolve your request.

8. Children

Capto Studio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Capto Studio or captostudio.app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
